Do You know chewing gum is a kind of exercise for your jaws? It keeps them in fit shape. Kids love chewing gums and we adults too, but do you know who invented Bubblegum? The invention of the bubblegum dates back to the ancient ages and the sap and bark of various trees were chewed by the Mayans and Greeks. The first gum in America was actually the sap of the Spruce Tree which was even marketed. Frank Fleer and Peter Meijer are probably the first inventors of the modern gum in 1906. However, it was Shelby’s Blow Gum marketed in 1924 which became famous. The Fleer Chewing Gum Company is credited for the actual true bubble gum which can make big bubbles. Again in 1975 the Bubble Yum of the Lifesavers Company ended the stickiness associated with the gum. The modern companies include Hubba Hubba and Bubbilicious.

Another invention which is again popular amongst kids is Legos. All of us as kids have at one time or the other played with plastic blocks and gears to make buildings or machines. These games instill innovative and creative bent in children. Wonder who invented Legos? Well there is a little controversy attached to it. The first plastic toy blocks are attributed to the Lego Group which was founded in 1936. Ole Kirk Christiansen the then owner apparently first made the Legos bricks and sold them in the markets. However, the first bricks were made by the U.K. Company Kiddicraft run by Hilary Fisher. Fisher had in fact invented the self loading bricks.

Now, you know it is Lego which has made building blocks a household name and its popular blocks make a superb model of Chrysler building in New York.
